WWE Survivor Series 2016: Updated Match Card with Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar
How does the Survivor Series pay-per-view match card look with Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar added?
WWE Survivor Series is quickly approaching as it will take place on Sunday, November 20. It’s already less than one month away, even with Hell in a Cell on October 30. So, the match card has steadily been coming together for this joint Raw and SmackDown show.
On Tuesday afternoon, Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar got confirmed for Survivor Series. This is a rematch 12 years in the making, which got put together a few weeks ago. It started with a challenge from Paul Heyman, that got accepted by Goldberg one week later. However, no place or time had been set. This should have been announced on the October 24 episode of Raw, but other things got in the way.
This battle of wrestling stars isn’t the only match to join the Survivor Series card, though. Here’s a look at other bouts that WWE confirmed for the November pay-per-view.
5-on-5 Traditional Elimination Match (Men)
Raw stars TBD vs. SmackDown stars TBD
5-on-5 Traditional Elimination Match (Women)
Raw stars TBD vs. SmackDown stars TBD
5-on-5 Traditional Elimination Match (Tag Teams)
Raw stars TBD vs. SmackDown stars TBD
Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar
These three Traditional Elimination Matches came via a challenge from SmackDown’s Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan. Raw would accept one week later. However, no Superstars have been confirmed for any of these contests.
The Traditional Elimination Match has been a staple of Survivor Series for decades. Sometimes, these matches may have no significance (see 2015). Other times, everything could be on the line, like 2014’s match. Team Cena vs. Team Authority battled for control of Raw and even had Sting make his official WWE debut. It marked one of WWE’s best nights of the year, so could there be another historic moment in play?
Survivor Series is quickly shaping up for the show less than one month away. What else could be added?
