What did Alberto Del Rio reportedly test positive for when WWE suspended him in August?

Alberto Del Rio departed WWE on Friday after less than one year. He had been suspended for 30 days for failing WWE’s Wellness Policy. This had been his second stint with the company, having been released in 2014 for a backstage altercation.

As for what he tested positive for, F4WOnline is reporting that Del Rio tested positive for elevated testosterone and failed a steroid test, the latter of which hadn’t been known beforehand. The former WWE Champion noted in his press conference that he used testosterone replacement therapy, which got approved by a doctor.

We’ll see where Del Rio goes next. He had noted plans to wrestle 60 dates per year and be done within two years. Despite the limited schedule, this may be enough for companies to call him.

Regarding his public girlfriend, WWE star Paige, she remains with the Leader in Sports Entertainment. We noted a report last week of her potentially quitting WWE and finding legal representation. This hasn’t been confirmed, but after all that has happened with these two over the past two months, it wouldn’t come as a surprise.

The two-time WWE Divas Champion is only 24-years-old, and would probably draw interest if she leaves WWE. Anywhere from TNA, Lucha Underground, or AAA could show interest in her, and maybe even Del Rio. While not rumored, maybe they’ll align on one of these wrestling shows, all depending on how Paige’s contract situation progresses.
