WWE Rumors: Luke Harper Cleared for Ring Return

It looks like Luke Harper will be returning from an ACL injury soon.

In March, Luke Harper went down with a torn ACL during a WWE Raw dark match. This put him on a six-month timetable, and he hasn’t been heard from on programming since.

It has been six months since the injury, though. We noted a report earlier in September about Harper testing his knee, which would mean he’s close to a return. Pro Wrestling Sheet is taking this one step further, as they have heard that the Wyatt Family member has been cleared for a return. It’s unknown which brand he’ll appear on.

When the WWE Draft took place in July, Harper didn’t get selected by either Raw or SmackDown. This had been the case with other injured stars, like Nikki Bella and Emma. Bella would join SD Live, while the Aussie is close to returning.

However, if The Wyatt Family is somewhat staying together, that could mean Harper joins the Blue Brand, which Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan are on. He could also reform a tag team with Rowan, who suffered an injury before their team could gain momentum in 2015. Seeing WWE revisit this would add depth to SmackDown’s tag team division.

After an injury-riddled 2015 (and into 2016), it seems WWE has just about gotten back all of their hurt stars. This had included Cesaro, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Seth Rollins, all of whom came back during the spring. Finn Balor joined the disabled list in August, though. He suffered a shoulder injury that could keep him out until WrestleMania 33 season.

So, we’ll see what happens with Luke Harper when he returns. If WWE wants him to go solo, a spot on Raw could work. If not, then realigning with Wyatt and Rowan could be an option.
