Watch Cody Rhodes' TNA Impact Wrestling Debut Vignette (Video)

TNA previews Cody Rhodes’ upcoming debut that is set for Bound for Glory on October 2.

With less than two weeks left until Bound for Glory, there has been much speculation regarding surprises that we could see. Earlier this week, it was reported that Cody Rhodes would be coming to TNA Impact Wrestling soon. Slightly before the report of his signing, his wife, Brandi Rhodes was also signed making Rhodes’ debut almost imminent.

The frustration of Cody Rhodes had been documented because he wanted a return to his original character. He felt disrespected that he couldn’t pay homage to his late father and was looking for new horizons. TNA has always been a place for rebirth for former WWE talents. It will be interesting to see what Cody’s character looks like on day one. His preview package dove into what we may see on October 2.

The video seems to bring back Rhodes’ dashing character from his earlier WWE days. He was well dressed and listed as a game changer in TNA. If the other former and disgruntled WWE employees can be used as an example, he will be a success in TNA.

It also seems like Cody Rhodes is going to keep his last name. Matthews called him only Cody but he was fighting for the right to the Rhodes name after he left WWE. Brandi Rhodes’ promotional flyer included the Rhodes’ dynasty as she had fought for that same thing since her and Cody had gotten married. The death of Dusty Rhodes has fans clambering for his legacy to live on and with this addition, it only aids to TNA’s current roster.

From a talent standpoint, the future of TNA looks bright with all the new signings. The list of names grows to Rex, Galloway, EC3, and now Rhodes. With some of the homegrown talent like Eli Drake, Bram, and Rockstar Spud, it speaks well to the future. The promo battle from Thursday’s Impact between Aron Rex and Eli Drake showed that both men are ready for main event spots.
