TNA Rumors: Cody Rhodes to Work for the Company

Cody Rhodes may be heading to TNA soon, but the terms of his deal will let him do outside wrestling ventures.

Cody Rhodes recently returned to the ring after having to sit out for three months due to his non-compete clause with WWE. He had been granted his release from the company in May. Rhodes’ post-WWE career has included him working for EVOLVE and most recently, PWG, wrestling two matches at the Battle of Los Angeles 2016 event.

As for joining a wrestling company, Rhodes is set to be on Ring of Honor later in 2016. He’ll wrestle at Final Battle in December.

However, it seems the former Intercontinental Champion will be doing work for another promotion. F4WOnline is reporting that he’s going to work with TNA. Dave Meltzer apparently spoke with Rhodes at BOLA, and heard that he has agreed to work on Impact Wrestling while being allowed on ROH. This is due to Rhodes not being under contract with either show.

It’s also noted that Rhodes will feud with Mike Bennett. These two worked together at a Northeast Wrestling event. Cody’s wife, Brandi Rhodes, the former WWE ring announcer Eden, may appear with him too to feud with Maria Kanellis.

Rhodes will be the most recent former WWE star going to TNA. Damien Sandow, now known as Aron Rex, debuted on Impact Wrestling in August. He’s going into a feud with another former WWE talent in Drew Galloway.

Earlier in 2016, former NXT stars Sylvester Lefort (Basile Baraka) and Marcus Louis (Baron Dax) also joined TNA. They followed the likes of Tyrus, Ethan Carter III, and Matt and Jeff Hardy, among others.

We’ll see how long Cody Rhodes appears on Impact Wrestling for, and when he’ll debut. Are you looking forward to his impending arrival?
