'The Wall' Trailer: See John Cena Star in 2017 Movie (Video)
John Cena’s latest outside media project will be hitting theaters in 2017 with, “The Wall.”
John Cena has missed an ample amount of time from WWE programming over the past year. This includes filming Season 1 and 2 of the FOX reality show, “American Grit” and hosting this Saturday’s episode of “SNL”. All this and more has taken him off WWE since the October 9 Nom Mercy pay-per-view.
From one of Cena’s previous times away from the company, he also filmed a movie. This is called “The Wall”, a film that will hit theaters on March 10, 2017. It also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who rose to fame with “Kick-Ass” and recently played Quiksilver in the movie, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” in 2015. Cena and Taylor-Johnson played American soldiers that are attacked by an Iraqi sniper, and all that stands between them is a wall.
In the trailer below, the Face Kind of Runs the Place introduces everyone to “The Wall” before diving into the two minute, 30-second clip.

Cena continues to stay busy in Hollywood as he could be off to do media for this film in February. This may explain the recent advertising for SmackDown’s Elimination Chamber not featuring the 39-year-old. He also has “The Pact” to film, another movie that he got announced for. It’s all taking from away Cena’s time in WWE, which has reportedly kept his status in question for how often the company thinks he’ll be around for.
In the immediate future, though, John Cena will be returning to WWE. He’ll be at the Madison Square Garden house show on December 26, and be around for the Royal Rumble. One would think he will have a match at April’s WrestleMania 33 as well. After that, it’s pretty much a big unknown.
