Paige makes it clear she's not leaving WWE

Rumors surfaced a week ago following the exit of Alberto Del Rio from the WWE roster that his real life girlfriend and fellow superstar Paige was going to leave the organization as well.

Consider that matter closed after Paige released a statement on Twitter on Wednesday clarifying her status with the promotion.

"Let me begin by saying that the rumors that I'm leaving the WWE are completely false!" Paige wrote.

"I certainly look forward to returning back to action at some point, once my injury is treated and on a healthy return."

Currently, Paige is on a 30-day suspension as a result of a violation of the WWE's wellness policy, which is the exact same suspension Del Rio received ahead of his release.

WWE doesn't release details about athlete violations in regards to why a sanction is levied against them, but Paige insists hers had nothing to do with a failed drug test.

In fact, Paige says she was suspended for violating the rules about taking the drug test but she didn't fail for any kind of banned substance that resulted in the 30-day suspension.

"Although I was disappointed by my suspension, I respect the WWE's wellness policy. However, let me be clear that I was not suspended for failing a drug test, it was mere due to a procedural issue. I took the test, I passed it.

"I arranged said test to happen after I wasn't at my home when Aegis contacted me.  So I drove 200 miles to do it. Unfortunately, I didn't do it in time, according to Aegis. Once again, thank you for all the love and support!"

Aegis is the company that handles drug testing for the WWE and according to Paige, it was just a matter of timing for her to submit a sample that resulted in her suspension and not a failed result.

Paige has been out of action while also dealing with an injury but according to the former Diva's champion, she's expected to return to the roster once her suspension has been lifted and she's back to full health.

Paige is also a member of the "Total Divas" show that airs on E!, with the new season set to debut this fall.
