UFC Portland: FOX Sports 1 Main Card Staff Predictions

UFC Portland brings a rare four-fight main card to FOX Sports 1, and Cage Pages has their predictions ready for tonight’s event.

UFC Portland was hit hard by injuries, but the crucial bantamweight main event between John Dodson and John Lineker is still in tact.

UFC Brasilia was an excellent event for Cage Pages, with every writer finishing with at least an even record.

No one was perfect due to the stunning upset victory from Eric Spicely over Thiago Santos. Therefore, leading the way at 5-1 were contributors Jake Krier, Sean Bio, Dalton Granstrom, Ryan D’Souza, and site expert Danny Doherty. Slipping up on two of the six fights were contributors Ryan Wagner, Mitch Williams, Jack Kopanski, Anthony Mazziotti, Gabriel Gonzalez, and Justin Huffman. Lastly, Jason Payne lagged behind with an even 3-3 record.

    No unanimous picks this week, even with top-10 flyweight Louis Smolka taking on short notice newcomer Brandon Moreno, as one writer sided with the debutant. On the other hand, short notice newcomer Zak Ottow received a lot of love, but the majority sided with grizzled veteran Josh Burkman by a tally of six votes to five. The main and co-main events were fairly decisive, with Will Brooks taking home all but one pick, and John Dodson receiving eight of the 11 votes.
