UFC Melbourne Main Card Staff Predictions

UFC Melbourne is not the strongest card, but Cage Pages does not discriminate. Here are our predictions for the Australian event.

UFC Melbourne lost its very intriguing headliner of Luke Rockhold vs. Jacare Souza earlier this month, and in its place stepped the co-main event of Robert Whittaker vs. Derek Brunson, which is an incredible matchup of rising middleweights.

Last weekend’s doubleheader of events boosted nearly the entire staff’s record significantly. While two writers led the way with an 8-2 record, nine followed them with a 7-3 mark. Falling just above .500 were four writers at 6-4, and two fell below the even point, one at 3-7, and the other at 4-6.

The six fights up for predictions are as follows:

Cage Pages’ picks represented how evenly matched the main event is, with Robert Whittaker taking home just two more picks than Brunson. Two squash matches are on the card, with just one writer picking against Jake Matthews and Alexander Volkanovski. The final two fights are a bit more evenly matched, with Seo Hee Ham taking nine picks to Danielle Taylor’s five, and Khalil Rountree putting up the same result against Tyson Pedro.
