UFC Fight Pass adds 8 new promotions to library
UFC Fight Pass -- the UFC's digital online streaming network -- has signed major new deals with eight promotions joining the service in 2015.
UFC officials made the announcement during a press conference in Las Vegas on Saturday prior to UFC 182.
The eight promotions are as follows:
Cage Rage
Extreme Challenge
XFO
UCMMA
Hook N' Shoot
TKO
King of the Cage
Pancrase
The major addition of the numerous promotions will include existing fight libraries being added to UFC Fight Pass in 2015. The promotions still doing live shows such as XFO and Pancrase will be added for streaming service at some point down the road as well.
Many UFC champions and top ranked fighters competed in these promotions including Anderson Silva and Matt Hughes while many up and comers are still cutting their teeth in the regional shows now joining UFC Fight Pass.
For instance, Anderson Silva was once the Cage Rage middleweight champion where he took on opponents such as one time UFC fighter Lee Murray. Hook and Shoot was a promotion primarily out of Indiana, which kicked off the women's MMA revolution with many of the pioneers of the sport competing there for the first time.
The libraries will also include fights with Miesha Tate, Ken Shamrock, Josh Barnett, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, Urijah Faber and dozens more.
The current library is already over 5000 fights and with the addition of these promotions the number will go over 9000 individual bouts. UFC oficials also stated that there are plans to add more promotions to the service in the future as well although no further announcements were made at the time.
The fights will begin to be added in the spring of 2015.
