Teixeira vs. Cummins, plus slew of new fights added to Brazil card

A slew of new matchups were announced on Tuesday for the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Sao Paulo, Brazil, including a fight between No. 3-ranked light heavyweight Glover Teixeira as he faces 10th ranked Patrick Cummins on Nov. 7.

The bouts will take place as part of UFC Fight Night: Belfort vs. Henderson 3, airing live on FOX Sports 1.

Teixeira is fresh off a submission win over Ovince Saint Preux in his last fight just two weeks ago in Nashville, Tenn. The victory stopped a two-fight skid for the former title challenger and he'll look to take another step toward title contention when he fights in November.

Cummins is also returning from a big win after he stopped Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante at UFC 190 and now he'll try to conquer the top five of the division with his bout against Teixeira.

Also added to the Brazil card is another light heavyweight crowd pleaser as heavy handed slugger Fabio Maldonado takes on Tom Lawlor, who just recently returned to action with a huge knockout victory over Gian Villante.

Both fighters requested the matchup and it didn't take long for UFC officials to act and make it official.

Fresh off signing a new five-fight deal with the UFC, Johnny Case will also fight on Nov. 7 when he takes on Yan Cabral in a lightweight matchup.

Two more lightweight bouts confirmed for the show include Rashid Magomedov against Gilbert Burns and Abel Trujillo taking on Gleison Tibau.

The prelims for the show also started to get filled with Matheus Nicolau drawing Bruno Korea and Viscardi Andrade facing Gasan Umalatov.

More fights for the card will likely be added in the coming weeks.
