Stephens KO's Jason

Jeremy Stephens is a longtime UFC veteran, and despite ups and downs in his career, the one thing he's always brought to the table is unquestioned power. It won another match for him at Saturday's UFC Fight Night: Belfort vs. Henderson, as he crushed Rony Jason with a high kick knockout.

The time of the finish was 40 seconds.

Stephens, who recently found his way back to the win column after a three-fight skid that likely had him teetering on the edge of being cut, has now won two in a row since moving to featherweight.

The two barely had a chance to get going before the end. Jason, for example, landed only one strike. But Stephens did have the time to set up the right kick with several feints, which paid off with the finish.

Jason ducked as he set up to throw a right hand, and Stephens unleashed the kick, which landed with a crack to the jaw as Jason fell to the mat. Stephens landed one ground punch before the referee pulled him away.

Stephens is now 22-9.

Jason hadn't lost in nearly four years, having won eight straight fights, including all of his three UFC starts until then. He's now 13-4.
