'Shogun' Rua vs. Jimi Manuwa headlines UFC Fight Night in Brazil in November

Former UFC and PRIDE champion Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua will look to return to his winning ways as he fights in his home country on November 8 against heavy-handed Brit Jimi Manuwa in the new main event for UFC Fight Night from Uberlandia, Brazil.

UFC officials confirmed the five round headline bout on Friday.

Rua (22-9) has fallen on harder times of late going just 1-3 in his past four fights.  The iconic Brazilian fighter was doing very well in his last bout against Dan Henderson in March before a reversal of fortune happened in the third round.

With Rua pitching a shutout to that point in the fight, Henderson fired back with a right hand in round three, smashing the Brazilian's nose and knocking him out.  Now Rua will attempt to redeem himself when he returns to action this November.

Meanwhile, Manuwa (14-1) will also try to rebound after suffering the first loss of his fighting career when he was finished by Alexander Gustafsson back in March.  Prior to that defeat, Manuwa was 3-0 in the UFC with all three fights ending by way of TKO.

The card will also feature a battle of top 10 flyweights as Ian McCall takes on John Lineker in a pivotal fight at 125-pounds.

UFC Fight Night from Uberlandia, Brazil goes down on Saturday, November 8 with more fights expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
