Sergio Pettis vs. Alex Caceres confirmed for FOX UFC Saturday in Chicago

Undefeated bantamweight prospect Sergio Pettis will return to action close to home when he fights at the FOX UFC Saturday card in Chicago when he faces former Ultimate Fighter competitor Alex 'Bruce Leeroy' Caceres.

Sources close to the bout confirmed to FOX Sports that verbal agreements were in place for the 135-pound fight on Jan 25. UFC officials confirmed the booking this evening.

Pettis (10-0) is quickly forging his own path in the sport after coming up under older brother, UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis. The former flyweight bumped up to bantamweight for his UFC debut where he took on Will Campuzano and won by unanimous decision.

Facing Pettis in Chicago will be Alex 'Bruce Leeroy' Caceres (9-5 (1 NC)), who makes his return to action after having his last bout scheduled for earlier this month cancelled when opponent Mitch Gagnon had visa issues traveling to Australia. Caceres is currently riding a four-fight unbeaten streak including wins over Damacio Page and Roland Delorme.

The fight between Pettis and Caceres will be on the undercard of the upcoming FOX UFC Saturday show headlined by former lightweight champion Benson Henderson as he takes on Josh Thomson in the five-round main event.
