Rashad Evans calls out injured 'Shogun' Rua

According to a report from UFC Tonight, former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans wants to take on fellow former titleholder Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, next. Ariel Helwani said that one of Evans' managers told him that they have already asked the UFC for a bout with Rua.

As for the Brazilian, his manager Eduardo Alonso told UFC Tonight that since he is still recovering from shoulder surgery, they are not yet ready to schedule his next fight. Rua is hoping to get cleared to resume training by the end of this month.

Evans lost his last fight, a decision to Ryan Bader, but has won two out of his last three overall. His contest against Bader was Evans' first in nearly two years after multiple knee injuries.

Rua won his most recent fight by decision over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, at UFC 190 in August. Overall, however, the all-time great has lost two out of his last three, and four out of his last six fights, dating back to 2012.
