Raising funds for military veterans & more on FATK

On the latest episode of The Fighter and The Kid podcast, co-hosts Brendan Schaub and Bryan Callen talk about meeting NFL star Justin Tuck, and why sports isn't always the most fun thing to discuss. "If you work at a freaking Ford dealer, do you want to talk about Ford when you're outside work?" Schaub explained.

"Don't get me wrong - I love fighting, I love football, people talking about sports. I love it, I appreciate it. I always interact. I entertain it. But there's so many more layers to me. It's like, 'dude, don't treat me like a meat head.' Justin Tuck is the same way. He's a smart, educated guy, and such a good person."

That great episode is below. A special bonus episode from late last week with guest retired Navy SEAL Andy Stumpf joins Brendan and Bryan is above.

That inspiring conversation is one you want to make sure to listen to, if you haven't already. Hear Stumpf talk about his military career as well as his new hobbies - sky-diving and base-jumping.

More importantly, however, hear about how Stumpf is turning those hobbies into a way to help his fellow servicemen.

Stumpf is in the process of trying to raise $1 million for the Navy Seal Foundation through base-jumping and the support of Kill Cliff. After retiring from the military, where he'd worked since he was just 17 years old, Stumpf struggled with just sitting back and watching the world go by.

The SEALS hade made an impact on him and, he believes, the world, and he wanted to continue to find same way to help those who sacrifice to help their nation.  "I spent the formative years of my life around an amazing group of people that really did help shape me to the person that I am, and I did a lot of what I would consider good things...I did what was asked of me. And I got out of the military and thought that I'd be satisfied," he recounted.

"That I'd be able to just sit back and be proud of what I did and just move on. It's tough. For a guy who has done it for so long to just sit back and watch the news...drives me absolutely nuts. Just because I got out of the military doesn't mean I'm not willing to fight for this country. I'll have that moral obligation for the remainder of my life. So, I was sitting around wondering, 'what the hell am I going to do?' And I got partnered up with a company called Kill Cliff...and they have a committment to the Navy SEAL Foundation. Every year they have a commitment to give them $250,000."

Stumpf decided to start a GoFund me project to up the ante and raise up to $1 million after talking to the Navy Seal Foundation about how money could be used. "We'll just try to blow this out and raise as much money as humanely possible for the Seal Foundation," he said.

"At about $1 million, we're getting to the point where I could fund the survivor benefit program for 2016."

The foundation's survivor support programs include housing assistance, health benefits, school grants, financial counseling, legal assistance, and much more for veterans.

Listen to the episode, below, and then find out more about you can help Stumpf with his fundraising project.
