Michael Bisping takes on Thales Leites in July Glasgow event
Michael Bisping and Thales Leites will meet in the main event of a July 18 UFC card in Glasgow, Scotland. The former world title challenger Leites has won eight straight fights overall and five in a row in the UFC.
Bisping has won two out of his last three fights, and is coming off a come-from-behind decision over C.B. Dollaway at UFC 186 in Montreal last month. Another newly announced fight for the Glasgow card will feature top lightweights Ross Pearson and Evan Dunham.
Dunham snapped a three-fight losing streak in January with a decision over Rodrigo Damm. Pearson has not only won two out of his last three fights, but done so by nasty knockouts.
In 2014, Pearson scored a TKO stoppage over former world title challenger Gray Maynard. Two months ago, the British TUF veteran knocked Sam Stout out.
The Glasgow event has five other bouts already announced, including top-10 strawweight and Scotland native Joanne Calderwood taking on Australia's Bec Rawlings. Also on the card, Irish lightweight sensation Joe Duffy fights for the second time in the UFC, against Brazilian Ivan Jorge.
Jorge has won eight out of his last nine fights. Duffy, who owns a win over Conor McGregor, has finished his last three fights by KO or submission.
