Michael Bisping issues ultimatum to Georges St-Pierre about their fight

Michael Bisping wants to fight Georges St-Pierre, but he's getting sick and tired of not getting a confirmed date from the former welterweight champion.

The fight between Bisping and St-Pierre was announced in early March with speculation that the bout would take place at UFC 213 on July 8 in Las Vegas.

Unfortunately, since that time there have been rumors that St-Pierre was pushing for a different date in the latter part of the year and that isn't sitting well with the middleweight king.

"I'm just throwing it out there right now, if he wants to wait until September or October then he can go find himself another opponent, buddy. Because I call the shots," Bisping said on his "Believe You Me Podcast." "Without sounding like an [expletive], it's my belt I'm the champion and I'm not willing to sit around until September or October. This fight was discussed in January. A fight camp only takes eight weeks or six weeks. Fighting in September or October is ridiculous.

"July 8 is the date. I will be a little bit flexible and we can go past that a little bit but I want to fight International Fight Week, July 8. Georges St-Pierre, get it together. Stop doing your [expletive] gymnastics, stop doing your back flips and whatever it is and let's do this, buddy. Sign the paperwork."

Bisping's anger towards St-Pierre partially stems from the Canadian engaging in a verbal back and forth when they met at a press conference in March and it appeared he was ready to book the fight immediately.

It seems since that time, St-Pierre has opted to push for a later date than the targeted July 8 show and that's not sitting well with Bisping whatsoever.

"You sat there at the press conference, you talked big, you sounded confident, so sign the [expletive] paperwork. It's as simple as that," Bisping said.

The delays might ultimately play out where Bisping tells the UFC that he's moving past St-Pierre and would opt for a fight against No. 1 ranked contender Yoel Romero instead.






















"If he's not ready, then I guess Yoel Romero gets his title shot. Listen, I'm not afraid of Yoel Romero. If GSP wants to fight, of course, there's a great storyline there.  It's Georges St-Pierre coming back, fighting for the middleweight title, we've been over this a million times. Everyone's heard about this and it's great and it will do big business but I'm not willing to sit around and he doesn't get to call the shots," Bisping said. "It's my belt. I'm not just some little [expletive] waiting in the wings for my title shot. I've got the belt and I want to fight.

"I'm in my prime. I don't want to sit around for a year. If we don't fight until September or October that would be a year [since fighting] and I'm not willing to wait a year for Georges St-Pierre. I might as well do two fights in that one year and still make that same money."

Bisping last fought in October 2016 when he earned a unanimous decision over Dan Henderson for the first defense of his middleweight title. Clearly, Bisping is anxious to book his next fight whether that's St-Pierre or not.

"Georges, if you're listening, get it together and let's do this [expletive) fight," Bisping said. "Come on."
