Matt Brown hopes to face the winner of Carlos Condit vs. Thiago Alves

Top 10 ranked welterweight Matt Brown has his next fight already scheduled for UFC 189 against Tim Means, but if all goes well in July he's eyeing the winner of the upcoming fight between Carlos Condit and Thiago Alves as his next opponent.

Brown has long desired to face Condit in the Octagon, but a back injury forced him out of their originally scheduled bout in 2013.

He's picking Condit to win this weekend also but believes Alves could certainly pull off the upset in this battle of former title contenders.

"I'm hoping I get the winner of that fight. That's what I would like. An ideal situation, I beat (Tim) Means and I get the winner of that fight. I'm picking Condit to win," Brown said on the latest Great MMA Debate podcast.

"Saying that I'm picking Condit definitely isn't taking anything away from Alves because he could absolutely win this fight."

Brown is currently in camp preparing for his July 11 showdown with Means, but if he's successful in that fight, the Ohio native is gunning for another top 10 opponent and Condit would certainly fit that criteria.

In addition to a breakdown of Condit vs. Alves, today's podcast will also dig into the recent changes to the drug testing policy by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, everything that went down at 187 and which fighter Brown calls one of the best role models on the entire UFC roster.
