Lyoto Machida vs. Yoel Romero headlines UFC Fight Night in Florida

Former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will return to action on June 27 as part of a new UFC Fight Night card landing at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. as he faces Olympic silver medalist Yoel Romero in the main event.

UFC officials announced the fight early on Friday.

The co-main event has also been confirmed as Rick Story takes on Erick Silva in a matchup of two of the top fighters in the welterweight division.

Machida takes the Octagon for the first time since losing a lopsided bout in his last outting against Luke Rockhold in April. The loss put Machida at 2-2 in his last four bouts as he looks to regain traction in a tough middleweight division.

Romero will try to take a step forward in his career after a knee injury forced him to withdraw from a possible title eliminator bout against Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza.

Now, the Cuban born Olympic silver medalist will take on a former champion in Machida as he looks to move to 6-0 in the UFC and inch closer towards a potential middleweight title shot.

UFC Fight Night in Florida is also expected to serve as the finale for the most recent season of "The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil" but no formal announcements have been made about the participants on the card.
