Lorenz Larkin lands vicious first-round TKO over Neil Magny at UFC 202

LAS VEGAS — Lorenz Larkin wanted to prove a point in his fight against a top-10 opponent, and he can consider it mission accomplished after punishing and putting Neil Magny away with a vicious first-round TKO

Larkin had complained going into the night that the UFC wasn't promoting him enough for his fights so he wanted to show why he deserved the marquee spotlight.

It appears Larkin took out his frustrations on Magny, who came into the night ranked No. 7 in the world with a 10-1 record over his past 11 fights.

As soon as the action started, Larkin was on the attack and after stinging Magny with a series of stiff punches, he knocked down the Colorado-based fighter with a straight kick to the body.

Larkin was also systematically destroying Magny's lead leg with a brutal kicking attack that left him limping and hopping around the Octagon trying to avoid any more damage.

Larkin's kicks were coming in with so much force he actually opened a cut on his own shin as he just obliterated Magny's limbs.

With his options running out on the feet, Magny tried a takedown against the cage, but instead got his head trapped as Larkin started blasting away with elbows. After a few hard shots, Magny went limp from the elbow strikes and Larkin jumped on top of the Octagon in celebration.

The stoppage came at 4:08 in the first round.

The win moves Larkin to 4-1 as a welterweight as he picks up the biggest win of his career at 170 pounds while taking out one of the top fighters in the division.
