Khabib Nurmagomedov fires back at UFC lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez

Lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov did not appreciate champion Eddie Alvarez’s claim that he did not fight the top guys before asking for title shot. So “The Eagle” took to Instagram to dismiss any such claim and offer some legitimacy to his path to the title.

Nurmagomedov has long been considered the lightweight division’s No. 1 contender. He has a perfect 23-0 record overall, 7-0 inside the Octagon, and was the only person to beat Rafael dos Anjos since 2011 … that is, until Alvarez did so in July to take the title.

With RDA now officially matched up with Tony Ferguson at the Ultimate Fighter: Latin America finale later this year, odds are, Nurmagomedov will get to settle their war of words inside the Octagon.
