Kailin Curran wants a rematch against Paige VanZant

Now that she's gotten her first UFC win, strawweight prospect Kailin Curran would love another crack at the woman she made her debut against. She lost to Paige VanZant back in 2014 after a back-and-forth war.

Now, even though the Hawaiian is coming off a win and VanZant is fresh off a loss, Curran is looking forward to getting another crack at "12-Gauge" at some point.

"Oh yeah, definitely," she told media members Saturday.

"I think, for me, that only makes sense. Our debut together, I feel like it shouldn't have gone that way. It got stopped, like, two minutes into the third round. I felt that I was getting back up. I felt like the ref shouldn't have stopped it. If we rematch, I have a good chance [to win]. I think that would be awesome for both of our careers."

It would be a great fight for fans, that's for sure. Whoever she faces next, however, Curran just hopes to get back into the Octagon sooner rather than later.

Kailin Curran is ready to keep her momentum going.

"I'm really looking forward to getting back in there and keeping the ball rolling," she continued.

"Hopefully getting another win to start my win streak."

Curran lost her first two UFC outings -- fights that she believes she should have won. Taking it on the chin under the bright lights is tough for any young fighter.

Curran admits that she went through rough patches mentally. Ultimately, she pushed through and became a much better person and fighter.

"There's times where I could have just given up and said, 'this is not for me. I came so close and didn't get the win," she concluded.

"But by me going through those losses and pushing through those, it makes me feel more confident, and it makes me want to push harder and get better. I feel that since then, I've come a long way as an individual, as an MMA fighter."
