Jake Ellenberger draws Josh Koscheck at UFC 184 in Los Angeles
Ultimate Fighter season one competitor Josh Koscheck will return to the Octagon in February as he takes on Jake Ellenberger in a crucial welterweight bout for both men at UFC 184 in Los Angeles.
The two fighters have agreed to meet according to UFC officials by way of the Los Angeles Daily News.
Koscheck (17-8) will return to action for the first time in more than a year when he fights at UFC 184. The former two-time title contender has dropped his last three bouts in a row and it appeared retirement might be on the horizon for the former Ultimate Fighter contestant, but he's coming back for at least one more go in the Octagon.
For most of his UFC career, Koscheck occupied a spot in the top 10 of the welterweight division. While he's fallen on harder times recently it also can't be ignored that his three losses came to current champion John Hendricks, who he fought to a split decision, Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley.
Ellenberger (29-9) is in a similar tough spot as he approaches UFC 184 as well. Once a top five ranked welterweight, Ellenberger has also lost three consecutive bouts with defeats coming to Rory MacDonald, Robbie Lawler and Kelvin Gastelum.
The Nebraska native will look to stave off a potential exit from the UFC when he faces Koscheck on the upcoming card from Los Angeles.
UFC 184 takes place on February 28 with middleweight champion Chris Weidman taking on Vitor Belfort in the main event as well as women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey facing Cat Zingano in the co-headline bout on the card.
