Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone faces Patrick Cote in Ottawa on June 18

Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone will stick around the welterweight division for his next fight against Patrick Cote at a new fight headed for UFC Fight Night in Ottawa, Canada on June 18.

UFC officials confirmed the new fight on Friday.

Cerrone just recently moved to 170 pounds where he picked up a win over Alex "Cowboy" Oliveira in the main event of a UFC Fight Night event in Pittsburgh in February.

Following the fight, Cerrone seemed more than willing to stay at welterweight, even going as far as suggesting a bout with former champion Georges St-Pierre at UFC 200.

While he won't get St-Pierre in July, Cerrone will stay at 170 pounds while facing one of the heaviest handed fighters in the division.

Cote has been on a roll lately with three straight victories, including two consecutive TKO's in wins over Ben Saunders and Josh Burkman.

Cote is now 5-1 since moving down to 170 pounds, with his only loss coming by decision to current top-five ranked fighter Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson.

"Cowboy" vs. Cote joins the upcoming card in Ottawa that actually features Thompson in the main event as he takes on Rory MacDonald in a five-round fight in the welterweight division.
