Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone expected to meet Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 205

With Robbie Lawler no longer an option, Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone will instead meet former "Ultimate Fighter" winner Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 205 in New York.

Sources close to the contest confirmed the fight to FOX Sports on Wednesday following an initial report from ESPN.com.

Gastelum was originally scheduled to meet Jorge Masvidal at the UFC Fight Night event in Mexico City on Nov. 12 but now he'll compete a week later instead.

Most recently, Gastelum dispatched former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks by unanimous decision at UFC 200 as he continues his climb up the rankings.

Now fighting in New York, Gastelum faces Cerrone, who has looked unstoppable since moving to 170-pounds with a trio of impressive wins including a victory over Rick Story in his last trip to the Octagon in August.

There's no word yet on who Masvidal will face as a replacement on the Nov. 5 card.

Cerrone vs. Gastelum is the latest confirmed fight for UFC 205 with more bouts expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
