Champ still recovering from brawl

The news is back from Jon Jones' MRI, and this is one time a negative is a positive. His foot scan came back negative for any breaks or fractures.

On Wednesday's edition of UFC Tonight, Ariel Helwani reported that Jones saw a foot specialist in Ithaca that cleared him of any long-term damage. Jones' team had feared that he had injured his foot in the first round of his UFC 165 war with Alexander Gustafsson, which Jones won in a close but unanimous decision.

After the Fight of the Year candidate, Jones left the cage limping badly and had to be taken to a Toronto hospital afterward for observation.

The victory was a record sixth UFC light-heavyweight championship title defense for "Bones," who pushed his overall record to 19-1.

With his last health concern out of the way, he'll focus on resting up before thinking about what might be next for him. UFC executives are currently mulling over the possibility of an immediate rematch with him and Gustafsson. Another possibility is a challenge from the streaking Glover Teixeira, who is riding a 20-fight win streak and campaigning for the title shot that was promised to him after a recent knockout of Ryan Bader.
