Blanco vs. Corassani bout booked
The Ultimate Fighter alumnus Akira Corassani has been added to the TUF 18 Finale on Nov. 30, when he'll take on the dynamic Venezuelan Maximo Blanco.
The UFC announced the featherweight matchup over the weekend.
Corassani, who participated on season 14 of TUF, has won both of his official Octagon bouts, defeating Andy Ogle and Robbie Peralta in decision victories. The win over Peralta was the biggest of his career, as he snapped the American's 10-fight unbeaten stretch. He's 11-3 with 1 no contest overall.
However, shortly after that win, the 31-year-old Corassani was injured and forced to withdraw from a proposed bout with Mike Brown. This will be his first fight back since the unspecified injury.
Blanco has split his two Octagon outings. He debuted in April 2012 with a split-decision loss to Marcus Brimage. His next matchup came almost a year later, but resulted in a unanimous decision victory over Sam Sicilia.
Seven of Blanco's nine career wins are via knockout. He's 9-4-1 with 1 no contest overall.
The TUF 18 Finale takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, and features a main event of flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson against challenger Joseph Benavidez in a rematch of their 2012 bout. Gray Maynard and Nate Diaz will also tangle, along with the finalists of season 18.
