Blue Square's 8-1 ante-post favourite Droopys Bradley will be all the rage in the 9.15, but Tony Collet's MINNIES PENSK represents a better priced alternative despite being drawn in trap three. In heat seven the Matt Dartnall trained GLENARD ROCKET is a proven performer.

Oxford stage three heats of their Gold Cup. In the opener (8.05) EVERLAST ROCKET looks an interesting recruit and in the 8.50 BALLYMAC ACE is nicely drawn in trap one. The red jacket suits the Nick Colton trained JOLLY POACHER like a glove and this classy performer rates a must-bet in the final neat (9.35).

Newcastle stages a good open card and the trainer to follow is Ted Soppitt. TAYLORS CRUISE boasts some good runs at Belle Vue and Sunderland and can take the 9.15.

The same trainer sends the classy TAYLORS RIVIERA to the traps in the 8.15 marathon event over 895 metres. This one has not been spotted since being beaten at odds-on in August, but a return to anything like her best will see a comfortable victory.

The semi-finals of the Laurels at Cork sees Blue Square's 5-4 favourite for the title TYRUR EDNA a deserved warm order in the 9.55. Conor Fahy's trap one runner flew round in a very speedy 28.41sec last Saturday and defeat cannot be envisaged here. The dog he beat then TUBBERTELLY DUBH is 7-4 to win the second semifinal (10.10). He can upset favourite Dalcash Cordosa.

The sprint final at Peterborough (8.12) looks another fine opportunity for the consistent ROTAR WING to add to his haul of golds. He should make light of his trap three draw. The final of the Fengate Collar (9.48) can go to LANRIGG LAD.

Monmore stages an interesting 480 metre open (7.26) with the consistent PROUD PATSY likely to lead the inside runners and the improving FATBOYZ ROMEO likely to lead the middle seeds. A reverse forecast is recommended.

FARGO BLUE is the one for the 9.58 and in the 416 metre event (7.58) there are a couple of early paced types trying this specialist trip for the first time. However, it may pay to stick with the tried and tested SEPTEMBER STAR who is nicely drawn in trap one and has a useful 24.48sec course and distance to his credit.
