Schiavone gets Fed Cup encore in Australia
Australian fans have seen plenty of Francesca Schiavone and won't have to wait long to see her again.
She was selected Tuesday to lead Italy's team against Australia in the first round of the Fed Cup on Feb. 5-6.
Flavia Pennetta, Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci were also picked for Italy's squad, which remains unchanged after winning the past two Fed Cups.
Schiavone's 6-4, 1-6, 16-14 win Sunday over Svetlana Kuznetsova at the Australian Open lasted 4 hours, 44 minutes, setting a Grand Slam record for the longest women's singles match. The Italian later lost to top-ranked Caroline Wozniacki.
Australia already selected Samantha Stosur, Jarmila Groth, Anastasia Rodionova and Rennae Stubbs to its team.
