Mayer returns to Germany Davis Cup team

Florian Mayer has been recalled to Germany's Davis Cup team for the first time in more than two years for the relegation tie against South Africa.

Germany captain Patrik Kuehnen says Mayer has played a ''very good season and deserves to be back in the team.''

Phillipp Kohlschreiber, Andreas Beck and doubles specialist Christopher Kas complete the German team.

The winner of the Sept. 17-19 tie in Stuttgart will remain in the World Group.
