Chile relief event set at Key Biscayne

Fernando Gonzalez and Andy Roddick have arranged a charity doubles match on the eve of the men's final at the Sony Ericsson Open to benefit earthquake-stricken Chile.

Grand Slam champions Jim Courier and Gustavo Kuerten will also take part in the match next Saturday, which will follow the women's final.

Gonzalez, a native of Santiago, Chile, recently visited 12 damaged cities in his native country.

"I saw that they really need help,'' he said. "I'm trying to do this event for Chile. We can do it now. I'm really happy for that. We're going to try to make a big show, and hopefully the people can have fun.''

Promoters said all proceeds will benefit Hogar de Christo's Chilean earthquake relief.

"It has been a really sad story, the catastrophe that happened,'' said Kuerten, a Brazilian. "And probably with our help and just the attention that we can get also around the world, I think we get people more and more involved.''
