Bank of Moscow Is General Sponsor of "Kremlin Cup 2010"
Moscow . OREANDA-NEWS . October 14, 2010. The traditional press
conference preceding the "Kremlin Cup" international tennis
tournament was held at the Olympic sports complex and was attended
by Alexey Sytnikov, Vice-President of the Bank of Moscow.
The "Kremlin Cup" is an annual professional tennis tournament
including both mens and womens matches. The womens "Kremlin Cup" is
included in the Premier 600 category of the Sony Ericsson
WTA Tour calendar and the mens
tournament is included in the 250 category of the
ATP World Tour calendar.
The "Kremlin Cup - 2010" is to be held at the Olympic sports
complex from 16 through 24 October 2010. The total prize fund of
the tournament this year amounts to 2 080 500 US dollars, which
will be provided entirely by the Bank of Moscow.
The following tennis players have confirmed that they will be
participating in the "Kremlin Cup - 2010" womens tournament: last
years tournament winner, "Roland Garros - 2010" champion Francesca
Schiavone (7th racquet of the SE
WTA Tour), global star of the
courts, the Serbian tennis-player Elena Yankovich, and leading
Russian tennis players Vera Zvonareva, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova,
Maria Kirilenko and others.
The list of participants in the mens tournament is headed by
three-times winner of the "Kremlin Cup" Nikolay Davydenko (6th in
the current World Tour global rating). Mikhail Yuzhniy will defend
his last years title. The foreign participants in the mens
tournament include French tennis star Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, the
Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis, the Czech tennis player Radek Stepanek
and last years finalist, popular with the Moscow spectators, the
Serb Janko Tsipsarevic, and others.
The Bank of Moscow has been supporting the "Kremlin Cup"
since 1998 and since 2003 has been its General Sponsor.
Support for sports is a key sphere in the Bank of Moscows
social policy.
The Bank of Moscow will continue to support sports projects,
allocating funds for holding events and providing sponsorship
assistance to sports organisations.
