ZDF gets German TV rights to Champions League
UEFA is changing its free-to-air broadcast partner for Champions League matches in Germany, awarding 2012-15 rights to public channel ZDF.
UEFA says ZDF will replace the Sat1 channel for showing one live match each week, plus the final, over the three-year contract.
The value of the deal, which includes internet and mobile phone rights, was not disclosed.
Sat1's current three-season Champions League deal expires next year.
UEFA says Sky Germany has extended its existing pay-TV rights through 2015, and also has bought Europa League rights for 2012-15.
UEFA is still seeking a free-to-air partner in Germany for the second-tier Europa League competition.
