Zaccheroni focused on CL spot
Juventus coach Alberto Zaccheroni is determined to lead the club to
a Champions League spot this season after claiming his first win in
charge.
Zaccheroni enjoyed his first win since replacing Ciro Ferrara
last month in their 3-2 triumph over Genoa at the weekend.
The outcome lifted the Turin club to sixth in Serie A and
just one point behind Napoli, who hold the last Champions League
qualifying spot.
"I have been given one task and that is to make sure this
team reaches the Champions League," he said. "It doesn't matter if
we finish third or fourth."
Zaccheroni has revealed he would have to watch someone else
coach the team in Europe's elite competition should Juventus make
it.
"The possibility to be confirmed for next season? It's zero,"
he said. "My contract ends on June 30.
"The club was very clear and when things are like that, there
are no problems.
"But I behave as though I will remain here for 20 more years.
The players treat me as though I am the one that will decide at the
end of the season who stays and who goes."
Juve take on Ajax in Amsterdam in the last 32 of the Europa
League on Thursday before travelling to Bologna on Sunday.
