Xherdan Shaqiri singlehandedly beat Hull with scintillating brace for Stoke

Coming into the weekend, Hull vs. Stoke was perceived as the real dud of Saturday's Premier League action. A relegation scrap between two teams that were averaging less than a goal per game combined? No thanks. Little did we know that it would produce two of the day's best goals, courtesy of Xherdan Shaqiri.

First, the pint-sized midfielder unleashed this inch-perfect belted curler from outside the box:

He then followed that effort up with another left-footed beauty, this time of the free-kick variety:

Most of the time, players will try and get close to the goal to score. Usually, you know, cutting down distance helps boost your chances. Shaqiri doesn't have time for that. He'll just let it rip from outside the box and let the ball do the work. With his left foot that's been dipped in magic sauce, Shaqiri can put the requisite pace and swerve on a shot to beat a keeper from seemingly anywhere.

His display for Stoke on Saturday earned the Potters and important three points, as they moved two points clear of the drop zone.
