World Cup 2022 highlights: Tunisia defeats France, 1-0
The 2022 FIFA World Cup continued Wednesday with Group D at the forefront, as Tunisia (1-1-1) defeated France (2-0-1) at Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.
Simultaneously, Australia took down Denmark in another Group D match.

Setting the stage
Tunisia was aiming to bounce back after failing to score in its last two group stage outings. On the other side, France was aiming to capitalize on the momentum built after back-to-back wins to start the tournament.
9': No goal
Tunisia's Nader Ghandri appeared to knock in the first score of the game, but the goal was ruled offside after a VAR check.
35': Nimble shot denied
Tunisia forward Wahbi Khazri got off a shot in-between a pair of France players, but goalkeeper Steve Mandanda swallowed the shot attempt.
There was no score at halftime.
53': A little high
Tunisia had a handful of scoring opportunities but failed to capitalize. Its latest one came early in the second half, when midfielder Aissa Laidouni's close-up shot was hit north of the net.
58': GOAL!
Tunisia drew first blood when Khazri trickled in a goal past Mandanda, and the crowd erupted thereafter.

Looking for a spark, France subbed in forward Kylian Mbappe for Kingsley Coman.

France subbed in forward Antoine Griezmann for Youssouf Fofana.
89': France continues to attack
France had several scoring chances in the second half but was unable to punch one through. Mbappe's pretty shot attempt, as shown below, was its latest miss.

With mere seconds to spare, France appeared to even up the score when Griezmann punched in a goal. However, a VAR check ruled the France forward offside.
