Sam Kerr made her return to competition late in the match after being sidelined with an injury throughout the group stage. To the delight of the home crowd, the star striker wasted little time getting back into the swing of things, but earlier goals from Caitlin Foord and Hayley Raso were enough to send Australia to the quarterfinals.
