Wolves swoop for Belgian starlet
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder comes in from Belgian side Charleroi on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal. Mujangi-Bia arrived in England on Wednesday for medicals, and now both clubs have confirmed the deal. "This is the ideal solution for Geoffrey," Charleroi chief Mogi Bayat stated. "We hope he can prove himself in the strongest league in Europe." Mujangi watched last Saturday's Premier League game with Wigan and has completed the move after passing a medical. He could make his debut in Saturday's home FA Cup tie with Crystal Palace if clearance comes through in time. Wolves boss Mick McCarthy said: "We've very pleased to have signed Geoffrey. "He's a player we have been tracking for a while and will add some creativity and firepower to our squad. "He's an attacking midfielder who can play on the right or the left as well as centrally." Mujangi has scored seven times in the Belgian First Division with Charleroi in 48 appearances. He has also scored twice in six games for the Belgian Under-21s and went on to make his senior international bow against Chile last May. The player said: "I first heard about the interest a couple of weeks ago and am very happy to have signed. "I've played in England once before with Belgium Under-21s and it's been my dream to play in the Premier League. "It was good to meet the manager this week and I'm looking forward to playing for him." Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey added: "Geoffrey comes to us with excellent credentials and because he is only 20 years old, he has enormous potential. "He is highly respected in Belgium and regarded as one of their most talented young players. "This has been a difficult transfer window so far but we hope at least one or maybe two players will follow this signing."
