Will Leicester fire Claudio Ranieri? Club says he has 'unwavering support'

With Leicester City now up to five matches without a win and just one point away from relegation, there has been talk that Claudio Ranieri could be fired. The club didn't like that speculation, so they released a statement that made it clear they have no intention of doing so.

In light of recent speculation, Leicester City Football Club would like to make absolutely clear its unwavering support for its first team manager, Claudio Ranieri.

While there is a collective appreciation from everyone at the club that recent form needs to improve, the unprecedented success achieved in recent seasons has been based firmly on stability, togetherness and determination to overcome even the greatest of challenges.

The entire club is and will remain united behind its manager and behind its players, collectively and firmly focused on the challenges ahead.

Ranieri led Leicester to the Premier League title just nine months ago in one of the most incredible managerial jobs the sport has ever seen. He also has the Foxes into the knockout stages of this season's Champions League.

Leicester need to stay in the Premier League, though. It doesn't matter if they can get back into the top half, where most expected them to be this season, or just finish in 17th place and barely avoid relegation. They have to stay up.

There has been talk that Ranieri has lost the dressing room and they have yet to score in the league in 2017. Despite that, Leicester still think the Italian can turn things around. They're betting their Premier League lives on it, and they have made that clear to everyone.
