West Ham midfielder Noble out after appendectomy

West Ham will be without Mark Noble for a month in its fight against relegation from the Premier League after the midfielder had his appendix removed.

The 23-year-old Noble was taken to a hospital after complaining of abdominal pains in training Monday. He had surgery immediately.

Noble has started each of West Ham's 10 Premier League matches and scored two of the team's seven goals.

The Hammers are last in the standings and three points behind 19th-place Wolverhampton Wanderers.
