We need you, says Caldwell
The Latics have had fewer paying punters through their home gates this season than any of their Premier League rivals. But around 1,700 made the trip to Blackpool for a stirring 3-1 victory which lifted Wigan out of the bottom three. A longer journey to Sunderland is next up, and skipper Caldwell told the club website: "It's one of the best away games I've been involved in. "The support was awesome and the numbers that came were unbelievable, out-voicing the home support. "If they can re-produce that kind of form at Sunderland it'll give us the backing we need not only for that game but in our quest to stay in the Premier League."
