Wayne Rooney apologizes for 'inappropriate' apparent drunken pictures

Wayne Rooney has apologized after "inappropriate" pictures of the England captain apparently intoxicated and partying emerged this week. During on off day during the current international break, Rooney crashed a wedding party and was "almost too drunk to stand," according to The Sun.

The tabloid also obtained pictures of Rooney that certainly looked as though the Manchester United captain perhaps had been enjoying himself a bit too much. To make matters worse, he was still wearing his England kit.

Rooney's representatives issued a statement on the matter after it became front-page news in the UK. Via the Associated Press:

His manager with United, Jose Mourinho, reportedly isn't upset with Rooney but with members of the FA for allowing the incident to take place. Whether or not Mourinho's ire makes a difference, the FA said they'll be reviewing their policy with regards to free time on international duty.

This isn't Rooney's first time finding himself in the UK tabs, who has a reputation as being a "bad boy" in England, and odd are won't be the last.
