Watch Paul Pogba score an absolute missile against the Netherlands
It's been a rough few months for Paul Pogba. He's been under fire since France failed in Euro 2016 in front of their home fans, and since his much-hyped arrival at Manchester United shirt, the scrutiny around his performances has only increased.
But 30 minutes into France's World Cup 2018 Qualifier against the Netherlands on Monday, Pogba did something everyone can feel good about. He received a Dimitri Payet pass from well outside the area and put every single ounce of his frustration and anger from the last few months into one viciously swerving strike:
Good lord.
Maarten Stekelenburg got his hands to it, but only the hands of God, or perhaps Manuel Neuer could've kept this one out.
Pogba struck this like it was the face of every single egg avatar that tweets him abuse every day. He struck that ball as if it's been standing outside his house offering up various lewd epithets about his mother. There was so much ANGER behind it.
There was no reason to treat that ball with such reckless disregard for its well being. That ball could've had a family. Why, Paul? Why? At the time of writing France is up 1-0 on the Netherlands, and Paul Pogba still has not been brought into custody for his dire treatment of the match ball.
