Watch: Hugo Lloris somehow denies Chicharito a sure Champions League goal
Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez thought he had a sure goal in the Champions League, but Hugo Lloris had other thoughts, and he has the goal-line technology to back it up.
With Bayer Leverkusen and Tottenham locked in a 0-0 battle in Germany, Chicharito was positioned to tap-in a go-ahead goal, only for Lloris to spring across the goal mouth and cover up the ball as it was going over the line. Lloris managed to do just enough to keep the ball from fully crossing, and the official on the goal line saw it that way, too. Despite Chicharito's most impassioned protests, the decision stood, with the goal-line technology view showing that indeed most–but not all–of the ball crossed the line.

Chicharito was then denied of another would-be goal by Danny Rose, who heroically headed away Chicharito's volley from close range.
Tottenham entered the day in second place in Group E, a point behind Monaco. Bayer Leverkusen was third after securing draws in its first two group matches.
