Watch Edinson Cavani's dandy bicycle kick goal against Ludogorets
Paris St. Germain had a chance to win their Champions League group on Tuesday but stunningly fell short of the task. Arsenal beat FC Basel as PSG drew Ludogorets, propelling the Gunners to first in Group A and leaving the Parisians to settle for second.
That said, the match wasn't a total dud for Paris St. Germain. They'll at least be able to hang their hats on this delightful bicycle kick off the foot of Edinson Cavani.
The way Cavani baits the Ludogorets defense into the opportunity is special. He realizes he can't get on the end of the Angel Di Maria's floated cross. Instead of battling the two Ludogorets defenders for the ball, he occupies the space between them and their goalkeeper, removing the prospect of a headed back-pass.
The clearance goes straight up, and Cavani pounces, hops on his bicycle and slots home. The end result of the match might not have been what PSG were looking for, but they can hang their hat on that bit of skill. They're through the to the next round, and Cavani is looking dangerous.
He's already equaled his best tally for Champions League goals in a season, six, which he also hit in 2014/15. In the grand scheme of it all, things could be worse.
