Watch Bobby Wood shake his defender to score the winner for Hamburg

Bobby Wood scored his second goal in as many games, lifting Hamburg to a 2-1 victory over Schalke and giving them a vital three points in the league.

Nicolai Muller played a fantastic long ball down the right flank to Wood, who'd curled his run perfectly. He took on Schalke captain and German international defender Benedikt Howedes, cut onto his left foot, and fired a howitzer past Ralf Fahrmann, who couldn't do anything but watch it sizzle past him into the back of the net.

Wood's goal sent his side up two, but it proved to be all-important. Donis Avdijaj pulled one back for the visitors in the 90th minute, making for a nervous end to the match as Hamburg worked to hold on and secure all three points.

Currently third from bottom, Hamburg are struggling to stay afloat in the German Bundesliga. They've only scored 14 goals on the season, and Wood has three of those, tied for leading goalscorer in Die Rothosen's ranks.

They'll certainly need his goals if they're going to have any chance of staying up this year.
