The goal of 2016 may come from the Chilean Primera División.
Universidad de Concepción midfielder Alejandro Camargo took advantage of the keeper being off line on a clearance by goalkeeper Miguel Angel Pinto and volleyed it back into the net, which secured the 3–1 victory for Camargo's squad.
“The coach told us Pinto was always playing in advance of his goal so I closed my eyes and hit it,” Camargo told reporters after the game.
