Walcott, Sturridge miss training

Theo Walcott and Daniel Sturridge are doubts for England's World Cup qualifier against Ukraine at Wembley after missing training on Monday morning.

The pair were forced to sit out at the team's London Colney base through illness and will be monitored in the run-up to Tuesday night's game.

Chelsea forward Sturridge was an unused substitute in Friday's 5-0 Group H victory against Moldova but Walcott was introduced early in the second half for fellow Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Roy Hodgson has already had issues to contend with in defence after John Terry withdrew from the squad following an ankle injury sustained in Chisinau.

Chelsea team-mate Gary Cahill is primed to replace Terry ahead of Phil Jagielka, while Leighton Baines will continue at left-back in the absence of another injured Blues defender, Ashley Cole.

England beat Ukraine 1-0 at Euro 2012 to qualify for the last eight but the tournament co-hosts were aggrieved to have a legitimate goal ruled out when the ball appeared to cross the line before it was cleared by Terry.
