Verhoek makes Rennes switch

The 21-year-old took part in his first training session with his new club this morning after putting pen to paper on his deal. Verhoek scored 10 goals in 17 games this season for Den Bosch, but Rennes coach Pierre Dreossi urged fans not to expect too much too soon from the new boy. He said: "I ask for a little patience with him because there is a big difference between the Dutch second division and Ligue 1. "It's a gamble for the future. He is not there to replace Asamoah Gyan [who moved to Sunderland last August]. "He is an unknown player but we know his potential. With a little time, he can become a good player at Stade Rennais."
